Question

We have 3 children who have additional needs. One of our sons gets respite, but it feels like we're being pulled apart in different directions, so would really like for us all to go away together. We want to spend time together without worrying about the jobs that need doing, the phone ringing, and appointments to attend. We can't afford to do this, as most places which have suitable access also cost a lot more, so wondered if anyone could point us in the right direction?

  1. have you tried the family fund. They may not pay for your holiday completely but they may be able to help towards it

  3. Hi, i would certainly apply to the family fund, i did last year for the first time, i applied for a holiday here in the UK but they do help with abroad as well. When you first apply with all the paperwork, i was told it can take about 4 months to get an answer as they have to check all your paperwork etc, but i was plesantly suprised when only 4 weeks later they accepted it and granted us vouchers for a holiday at Butlins! Well, we had a choice of Haven holidays, Butlins, hotels,B and B's etc, self catering, through Thomas Cooke etc..... You get to choose when they ring you up, i was well chuffed as we got £900 of vouchers and because it was later on in the year, it covered our holiday, with change may i add lol...there is only 3 of us, so even if it doesnt cover your cost completely, it will certainly help. We are going to be applying again this year but looking to go into a luxury caravan through Haven hopefully.
